The Land
of the
Braves
Tamarán is the ancient name of Gran Canaria — “the land of the braves.”
Travel is a way to be brave. We want to celebrate it in our hostel, our home, our family. Tamaran House is not just a place to sleep and eat: it's a place for sharing experiences, friendship, stories to tell, dinners, activities, surfing, and adventures together.
We want to feel the sun on our skin, walk on the sand, feel the power of the ocean, and the buena vibra of a city that embraces travelers from all over the world.

Yes! We are partner with Ocean Side, one of the best surf schools in Las Palmas. They offer lessons for all levels — from total beginners to those looking to sharpen their technique.
Through our partner Ocean Side you can rent surfboards, wetsuits and all the gear you need. La Cicer, one of the best surf spots on the island, is just 900m away.
Yes — we offer free use of snorkeling gear, beach volleyball equipment and more. Just ask at reception and we'll set you up.
Our team organizes daily activities for guests: group dinners, city tours, beach days, yoga sessions, kayaking, surf trips and more on previous request. We also add you to our hostel WhatsApp group so you never miss anything.
Definitely — our staff knows Gran Canaria inside out. From hidden beaches to mountain trails, local restaurants and night spots, we're always happy to share our favourite tips. Just ask at reception!
Las Canteras beach is just 50m away — one of the best urban beaches in Europe. The historic Vegueta quarter, the Triana shopping district, great restaurants and bars are all within easy walking distance.
